3 Factors to Consider When Choosing Paper Cups
When consumers buy and use paper cups, in addition to paying attention to factors such as the number of packages and label prices, they also need to pay attention to the following issues:
For cold drinks and hot drinks ice cream, the use of paper cups should be distinguished
Consumers should pay attention to the use of paper cups when purchasing paper cup products, and choose paper cups reasonably according to different uses. Paper cups are divided into cold drink cups, hot drink cups, and ice cream cups. Different uses have different applicable temperatures. For example, wax-coated cups are usually used to hold cold drinks, such as cola. They cannot be used to hold hot drinks. Otherwise, the wax layer on the surface of the paper cup will easily melt and be mixed into the food, which will affect the safety of use.
At present, most of the paper cups on the market are coated paper cups, mainly with a single-sided coating (PE film) inside the cup, and there is no coating layer on the outside of the cup, which can be used to hold hot drinks. It is not recommended to use for cold drinks, because it is easy to form condensed water on the outer wall of the cup when holding cold drinks, which will easily cause the cup body to soften, the stiffness to drop, and the paper cup to be easily deformed.
When purchasing paper cups, look at the channels, and only if they pass the inspection
Consumers should go to regular shopping malls and supermarkets to buy, and give priority to well-known brands of paper cup products. Most of the paper cup products circulating in regular shopping malls and supermarkets have been inspected and qualified. Products of well-known brands usually occupy larger shelves, and consumers can buy with confidence. Try not to buy Sanwu products.
According to the requirements of the State Administration for Market Regulation, products such as food paper packaging containers, including paper cups, must have the QS mark before they can be sold.
Considerations are needed, and inferior paper cups are not consumed
First, check whether the packaging and sealing are complete and whether the font printing is clear. Try not to buy products with damaged packaging seals and blurred printing.
The second is to see whether the inner and outer surfaces of the paper cup and the bottom of the cup are clean, whether there are stains, deformation, or mildew, and whether the thickness is uniform. The cup body has a printed paper cup, and the pattern should be uniform in color, clear in outline, and without obvious color spots. For cold and hot drink paper cups, pay attention to the principle of 15 and 10, that is, the cup should not be printed within 15mm of the cup body and the cup bottom within 10mm of the cup body. Try not to buy products with poor appearance quality.
The third is to smell whether the paper cup has any peculiar smell. When buying paper cups, if possible, you can open the package and smell it to check whether there is any odor, especially the smell of ink or mold. If there is an odor, please do not buy it.
Fourth, it depends on whether the paper cup has a fluorescent reaction under the irradiation of ultraviolet light. When purchasing, you can take a photo under fluorescent light. If there is an obvious blue reaction, you should buy it with caution.
Opened paper cups should be sealed in time for storage, should be stored in a ventilated and dry place that is not prone to moisture, and should be used as soon as possible within the validity period.
